Who do the Crowds say You are?

Life. It is such a gift from God. There are so many seasons. This season of being a grandmother is such a special time. All through your life you have different titles: daughter/son, student, wife/husband, mom/dad, employee, grammy/poppy, etc. Time goes by so fast. Life keeps rolling on and before you realize it, the ride is over on earth. Sometimes the end comes quickly and other times you feel like the end comes so slowly especially when your body betrays you. I get it. We have to remember, “Even suffering is transformed by God to have meaning and to be a pathway into love.” 

It is so hard to find a way to live with the crosses of life especially when others give you titles or names like white trash, bum, no good, rich, poor, gay, straight, black, white, worthless, dud, know it all, smart-aleck, snob, red-neck, thug, cripple, ugly, low class, loser, etc. You may be known as a teacher, coach, restaurant employee, doctor, yard man, mayor, hair technician, lawyer, homemaker, store owner, accountant, factory employee, or pastor. The list could go on to fill this entire blog but the message is this: the most important title that we have is being a Child of God. Many today ask, “ Why am I here? Is it to just suffer? Life has no meaning.  “ And I say to you as a Child of God we all have a purpose: “Work faithfully in the vineyard of the Lord and leave the care of everything to Him.” Love each other and build each other up. This is only part of our story. We have a spiritual life to look forward to with the One who knows every hair on your head and your name is written on His hand. All life has meaning with God: “This is the fullness of love that we are made for, receiving the love of God in Jesus Christ…mediated through many men and women who he has placed in our lives. ” We have a purpose and work to do no matter who the crowds say you are?
