Is God with you? Do you notice when you look at your life how things look so bleak you feel hopeless? There are hard decisions to make and you feel like there is no good choice. Then you remember “ I am your refuge,” “ I lift my eyes to the Lord, “ and” I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered me. “
Two weeks ago lots of trails befell me. After the big Mom and daughter day out, Sunday my wheelchair chin drive broke and I have to stay in bed or parked in one place and position. This is torture. Monday, the mechanic informed me the cost to fix the air conditioning on the van would be close to $2000. So I was physically and geographically stationary. I stayed in bed as much as I could because it was depressing and hurt less physically. Thursday, I was able to do my new Bible club on Zoom, Thanks be to God. I was late to class. I literally was there with a bedhead and my first cup of coffee. This has become my Thursday morning Zoom look. We came to the end of the lesson and our leader asked for prayer requests. I kept thinking I shouldn’t ask for God to help me with the wheelchair and van. I was so miserable and I thought I was going to miss my grandson Arthur’s 1st birthday party. So, I asked for prayers for my van and wheelchair to get fixed because of my situation: no independence, no church, no Women’s Wednesday Bible study, no rolling my dog around the block, and no 1st Birthday with Arthur and family. Later someone I knew messaged me on Facebook.
“ I want to help you. “
I told the person to just pray for me. God will provide.
“ I want to fix the van. You still have work to do. God uses you. “
I was humbled and crying. I told them to let me pray about it. Things in my budget are tight supporting my daughter and grandson. I told the person, “ Thank you and, yes. You are being Christ’s hands helping the widows. “
The day I asked for prayers we were studying James 1:1-27.
James 1:1 Court it all joy.
James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
Both were fixed and ready to go by next Friday.
I was depressed just thinking about the long days ahead but God was with me. I have been going everywhere and thanking God each and every day. I made it to our Arthur’s 1st Birthday Party. Emmanuel was there, too.

Ken, look at what our love created. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” Psalm 127:3
