In my mind this week I am focusing on peace. The second week of Advent beckons us to bring peace to others. God, make me a vessel of Your Peace. I am reminded of the peace we all crave in our homes but at the ALS casa my health is making chaos. Just when you think you are out of the woods, the unexpected. I decided to take my kids and Grands to see Charlie Brown Christmas on stage at the Orpheum in Memphis. I bought the tickets in early November and the show was December 7th at 2:00 PM. The closer the day came, the harder I prayed for memories to be made and my breathing to hold out without a cough assist machine and the suction machine. Those are nightmares. Besides that, traveling is becoming harder. My neck and back take so much abuse and are so sore from the bumps. It takes days to recover. I am happy to report that Saturday was great! My grandson Jay and I were full of the Christmas spirit. We sang Christmas songs and talked. We both dozed off. The trip home was good until just 20 minutes from home we hit a bump. I aspirated on my own saliva. It was a night that went on until 3 AM. My lungs were finally clear. I’ve been slowly getting better this week but had another spell last night. I used to have a spell once a month but my new normal is looking like once a week. Just send prayers for peace for my family during this season and I know that God has plans for me. He always has.
Let’s focus on our church families. It’s the most sacred time of the year. The time that brought light and goodwill to all men, Jew and Gentile. A savior for all mankind to reconcile us to God. A church to continue to keep spreading the light of Christianity to mankind. It is there to spread His Peace. Are your church families at peace? What is causing our churches to divide? His name means division. He has been there from the start. Let us build unity. Thanks be to God for the greatest gifts of all.
Let me close with Peace come to us this Christmas season. Allow the Holy Spirit to flow freely from one person to person, home to home, and church to church loving one another forgiving those who trespass against us as our Savior forgives our sinfulness. The best conduit of Peace is Forgiveness. Homework! Please forgive me students. Ask someone in your family, church, or work to forgive you. Make amends and channel peace.

Sal the Peace Loving Gal
Quote of the Day :
Lord, make me a channel of thy peace,
that where there is hatred, I may bring love;
that where there is wrong,
I may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony;
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there are shadows, I may bring light;
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to
to love, than to be loved.
