Here I am up in the 3rd watch. Reading and praying asking God to help me write another letter for Him to the times in which we live and are in charge of turning back the dark and to help save souls: protect orphans and widows, help immigrants, love others as you (should) love yourself (especially the ones that persecute you and the hard to love), and love God with all of your heart, mind, and soul above EVERYTHING. By chance I go to Facebook to check on the sick (please pray for Addison Swims living, beautiful miracle), the birthdays, babies being born, and just who needs prayers or a word of encouragement. Looking at FB reminds me of my condition. I fight the cancers of social media. It’s the 3 C’s: Comparison, Competition, and Critiquing. Just good old fashioned Coveting if you break it down. I see my memories of my healthier days. Then I saw a post about me.

‘I don’t know about you, but I’m worn out.  Negativity reigns in our interactions on this space of social media.

I intend to purposefully start bringing back the positive.  If you see something or hear about a kind act, let us know.

I am a firm believer that there is so much goodness and kindness in the world.  I also believe that goodness and kindness are defined by God and are fruit of the Holy Spirit.  That means Jesus owns and defines them.

Let me tell you what I saw today.  A friend of mine is a quadriplegic, confined to a wheel chair, and knows her days on this earth are numbered.  She sent me an email recently telling all of the ideas she has to “do good” in our ministry and community.

She then started telling me stories of women she has met who are widows or alone.  She told me, “After I talked to one of them, I thought to myself, there has got to be a way I can help her not feel alone. Julie, there are so many things I want to do.”

Mind you, it takes literal hours for my friend’s caretakers to ready her.  And all she can think about while people are caring for her is how she can in return care for others….in a wheel chair, unable to move her arms and legs, oxygen hooked up and completely dependent on others.

Aren’t we all dependent on others? 🤔

We all need to take a lesson from Sal. Stop dwelling on what CAN’T be done and start focusing on what CAN. I have full mobility.  Am I using it to do good?

Be Kind’

I know my body is broken and have grieved the loss of physical activity in my life and sometimes still do. But then God speaks to me through my daily readings of Scripture, people, my mind in my subconscious (that little voice that tells you when and where to let your Christ light shine) and I literally just let the Holy Spirit guide me. I literally let go and let God. Never ever thinking about failure because God is in control not me. He will give me the strength and the people to complete His mission. It is not about me. It is not about becoming rich, famous, or lauded with awards; it is about God. “No longer I, but Christ who lives within me.” Die to self. You become consumed by Him. Every word, action, and deed is filtered through Him. Yes, there are times when I want to have a normal life, but I want His mission more. “Not my will Lord, but YOURS be done.” When I came to the realization of my new scoot life, I had embraced my cross for God and for others. I cried out during my prayers, “Use me Lord until nothing is left.” Thank you Julie for your words of affirmation. God is still using me for His purpose. I have so many seeds left to plant. God’s working through you my Sister in Christ. Together let God lead our hearts to grow His Kingdom. “The Harvest Is Plentiful, the Laborers Few’” my friend and God wants to use us in mighty ways. There is no coincidence in our meeting. Let us go forth and serve the Lord together.

35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

It’s time to Shine our Lights by Walking in the Light especially on social media. Join my friend Julie in Posting the Positive. And even better, Be the Positive! Look around for God winks. Share with the World how God is Alive Wherever You Are.

Quotes of the Day:

Luke 10:2

2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. James 4:17
