Ask, Seek, & Knock
In my mind,I have been pondering the world’s mindset of Advent, the Season of Christmas. A new year to follow the Church’s calendar brings me to try to deepen my faith, Christianity, when I feel the weight of the world’s view trying to eat away at the beautiful Christmas Story of a savior born to redeem mankind.
I have a lot of “asks.” Why am I still here? Why does the world want to live forever? What else can I do for you God? Can you please direct me to my next assignment? I am weaker and wearing down, can you please give me an extra dose of the Holy Spirit, HS? Help me FOCUS on the real meaning of Christianity and shine so others fall in love with the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the narrow way.
We are seeking our gifts for the season. We want gifts that will be meaningful and lasting. I am sad to say that toys, even Tonka tough, will rust and break. Time with your family sharing the gifts of family making memories is the best way to spend Christmas. Snuggling with toasty blankets watching Christmas movies. Playing games with cousins who visit and helping cook are the stuff of memories that last a lifetime. Seek to experience life and give yourself away to others. Seek to be a family loving each other.
Knock, yes knock on neighborhood doors and share the love of the Holy Season. Just like Cindy Lou Who, we know who has a low HS meter. Surprise them with acts of love. It is just the first week of Advent so get out there and ask, seek, and knock! I want a report come Sunday so we can start assignment two. Yes, it is homework!
