In my mind lately I have been searching for Hope. You know something to look forward to because I have been ghosting in my mind in the past. It has been a powerful journey fighting back from the other side of grief. Something floating in my chest nudged me. There once again, I find myself looking around at all that I can still do. Not long ago I was still just marking time and just wanted to hide away. My sister contacted me about speaking to a group of women from Southside Baptist Church. I wasn’t feeling it, then I felt the nudge. I took a deep breath and said, “I will do it.” This was the thawing of my heart. I was beginning to feel Hope again, or yearning for it. When we were together, there were so many things to Hope for in our lives. I wanted to do the good that is set before me. I have been nudged out of the nest with a lukewarm heart. The jobs set before me are Matthew 25:40 Inc., President of the local YMCA board, Monday Bible Study, Turn the Page Book Club on the Third Friday of the month at 11AM, Women Bible Study, and a little community garden. We are looking for members for the third Friday at 11AM Bible study. It’s on Esther and Ruth at Southside Baptist Church. Contact me if you want to meet on July 21st. (Our First Meeting) Of course we are about to organize the Depot Days, Autumn March for ALS, and Addi’s Haunted Trail. If you would like to help with any of these, please contact me. There are so many ways to help. Come join me, be a part of the good. My most exciting current adventure is the community garden and my BEES! I have always wanted a secret garden. I remember going on garden tours and being so inspired. This community garden is coming together nicely. The kids are helping as well as their families. It’s just starting with twenty four fruit trees, seventeen blueberry bushes, nine grapevines, some herbs, tomato plants, roses, sunflowers and perennial clearance plants. It sounds massive but it is just starting. The Bees are the most fun! I’ve learned so much about nature and bees. Why? So I can teach you. Stop moaning back row! Tomorrow will be Ken’s heavenly birthday. It will be one year. One day I will understand timelessness like you do now. Here’s a picture of me with the lilies. I think that they really showed out. The kids said that it was just my imagination. I remember collecting these with a shovel and plastic bags. They were on the side of the road. The farmers would try to kill them with weed killer so I started rescuing them. The originals succumbed to the weed killer. These are safely relocated. Look around and find something to Hope for!
