Jelly

My heart has been completely flattened.

It’s as thin as a piece of satin.

I thought I could fit you in.

I know now no one would win.

I will forever be peanut butter without jelly knowing it never happened.

Road

So many take the road more traveled.

When life begins, we get so enamored 

With expensive, shiny, fantastical, cluttering items 

Simply human constructed matter tightened.

At the end of your time, one only finds the glittery things were not what matters.
