Thinking of the cottage, Jo remembered the huge cat, Darcy. She thought about pies she made for the tea parties from the berries picked by the cottage. The makeshift desk, chair, and stationary where she wrote poetry and daydreamed about finding a treasure chest full of gold and diamonds. Losing the cottage and Darcy was a travesty.
