Life Lent Day #22

Today, I am focusing on Life. Most people know that I have recently received two more beautiful grandchildren within a few months, miracles. These precious baby boys were born four months apart. I am so blessed to look into their beautiful bright eyes and see the gifts from God in this season. The miraculous growth of a child that we often overlook in the hectic moments of parenthood. I am guilty of being busy raising my children. It is the work of a parent to be busy guiding, protecting, teaching, providing, and loving them and when you blink they are becoming parents. I am so grateful I chose being with my children and family time over self serving activities that would steal that time. Remember the song, “Cats and the Cradle?” It is the best investment Ken and I ever made. The wisdom of this sacred thing called time usually emerges when we become grandparents.

ALS has taken away my physical abilities to hold, run, and dance with my Grands. I confess there is a bitter weed that sprouts occasionally when my arms itch and ache to hold them. It grows when I feel insignificant and helpless in tempering their cries. This Lent is helping me to weed out all of these horrible feelings and fill me with gratitude for being present. Last of all, He is using me and helping me find ways to make the most of these beautiful miracles I get to be a Grammy, Gramburger, Gramster, Gramm, and Sal to every single day God gives us. Life from conception to an earthly death is precious. Today please pray for our children. Each one conceived is a miracle. Let us all embrace Life.

Dedicated to MW You will hold your little miracle again one day.

My dear Heavenly Mother Mary, you know the pain of losing a child. Please be a comforter for those who have lost a child.
