Lent Gardening Days 7, 8, & 9

Are you still with me working on turning back to God? Each day we take a step towards our home in the heart of God the evil one lays another snare in the path to turn us back or slow us down. Stay strong and empty your mind, heart, and soul of brambles of daily life so God can fill us with His words sharpening our swords. Here are a few verses I have filled my mind with on Day #7.

We are scared, Lord. What can we do?

Lent Day #7:

Psalm 107:43 says, “Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord.” Where have you seen the Lord’s steadfast love just these first days of Lent?

Psalm 103:11: 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him. Can you feel the Love of God in your daily walk?

From King David to St. Paul to you and me, we all have fears. Let these scriptures fill your heart this week.

Psalm 56:3–4: 3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. 4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Psalm 56:10–11: 10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, 11 in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?

Romans 8:31: 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Fasting Fridays are too hard. My sins are too many.

Lent Day #8

Mark 3: 23-26 & 28 & 32-35

And he called them to him, and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan?

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end.

 “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;

And a crowd was sitting about him; and they said to him, “Your mother and your brethren are outside, asking for you.”

And he replied, “Who are my mother and my brethren?”

And looking around on those who sat about him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brethren!

Whoever does the will of God is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

It is hard. More of us are sitting on our throne judging others and comparing ourselves to others. We have those negative thoughts about others around us. Thinking about how other people fall short. We need our mirrors to see how we are being self righteous. We are sinners. We are going to continue fast from judging others. This next week, exalt those around you. Humble yourselves by looking in the mirror, your mind, heart, and soul. Tell God to clean out the weeds of pride and plant humility. Be merciful oh Lord, I am a sinner. Help me respond with your Love.

Can you hear God speak? Put your God Pods in!

Lent Day #9 Today!

Today we continue reading, listening, fasting (from the NEGATIVE,) and reflecting on the Word of God. Here is your task:

Be the Good soil.

“But those that were sown upon the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.”

Examine your mind, heart, and soul of being fertile and growing God’s word? Your children demand for you to stay in sin with them or are your desires to sin influencing your children? FOMO? One drink after work or before bed will calm down your stress, that is ok, right? Putting your anger and negative comments on social media. You spend most of your free time staring at screens instead of being interactive with your friends and family, you are socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally detached from your family, friends, community, and reality, void of empathy and compassion for your fellow men and women etc. “God, please empty us of the weeds and fill your children with your Words and deeds.”
