Happy New Year 2026!

Happy New Year 2026!

Saint John 2:29-3:6

2:29 If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who does right has been born of him.

3:1-6  1 See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. 3 And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. 4 Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in him sins; no one who sins has either seen him or known him.

In today’s culture of “me” first before everything else, I feel like John the Baptist crying out to my fellow Brothers and Sisters to turn away from selfish indulgences and embrace each other on this earthly journey. True, we have many takers and too few givers. It is not money or material items that our upcoming generation needs but food for the Soul. What is this food for the Soul? It is your time. Enter into the muck of the brokenness of other fellow human beings. They are broken from the world. Jesus knew this and called on His followers to not just give monetary help but spiritual help through LOVE. Is it messy? Yes. Is it hard? Very. Is it possible to make a difference? Absolutely! First we need to pray for Our Father in Heaven to enlighten us on how we can help our Brothers and Sisters. Then open your eyes and hearts and minds. Listen for that nudge in your soul and take a leap of Faith to where He guides you. There are so many ways to love and serve. Consider these in your community: children, elderly, struggling moms and dads, the abused and the abusers which includes emotionally, physically, economically, mentally, and sexually (all of us are God’s children and need prayer), the sick and dying, the homeless, federal and local governments, non-profit organizations, and the list continues to grow and is not limited to this list. The best way to help in 2026 is not emptying your bank account but giving something priceless, your time. Whether it be prayer, being present to your family, friends, and/or church, or physically volunteering to help, it will have such an amazing impact in Heaven and on earth just wait and see. I can’t wait to see YOU be a good and faithful servant this year. We all have God-given gifts to share. Use your talents and please give your time in 2026. Happy New Year!

Quotes of the Day:

“Mom, what are you wearing to host The Bridge families and children?” asks my son.

“My Christmas tree skirt.” me answering excitedly.

“You really are turning into John the Baptist.” son shaking his head.

The Lamb of God

John 1:29-34

29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and declared, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him; but I came baptizing with water for this reason, that he might be revealed to Israel.” 32 And John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. 33 I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I myself have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”
