It’s almost Halloween! Before you don your witches’ hats and grab those broomsticks, here’s a new story challenge for you.

Can you tell a story in 46 words using the following words in it somewhere:

  • PORTAL
  • DROOL
  • SLIPPERS
  • MARKSMAN

As a high school senior, Tom was drafted by the government as a special agent after taking the ASVAB test. The portal suggested a marksman. Drooling at the chance of escape, he took it. I remember the day he called to tell me, “Put on your slippers; meet me outside!”
