Unity

In my mind I have been thinking about something that we all need, especially Christians. This week is prayer for Christian unity. Today our modern culture is confused. We want to be Christians without the work and suffering from following a moral code of ethics and virtues. It is so easy to look around and see immortality everywhere and in almost everything. Why? Even Christians are confused about what is moral and virtuous because society is telling us everything goes. When you look at your children and grandchildren do you want them to be honest, hard working, have charity, and have wisdom. When and where will they learn these virtues? Hopefully from your own actions and your home. Do you want them to be a single parent? I’m not saying that the single parent can’t be an amazing parent, but ask any single parent and ask if they were challenged without a partner. If they are honest, they did not plan on doing this alone. The current culture has  40% in the US being born of unwed or single women. Do you want them to be married? I hope you do. Marriage is not man-made; it is God made. It is a sacrament. What is the root word? Sacred. There are seven sacraments of my own church. I bet your own church thinks the same thing about the sacraments in some way. See why we need unity more than ever. Children born in the 80’s and 90’s, Millennials, are the first generation born plugged into the Internet; forty percent of this generation have no affiliation to a faith. Where and when and how will they learn these virtues? Us. We Christians have work to do. We need unity more than ever. We have a job to save souls. How, first and foremost, live the virtues and the sacraments of God. I look at my precious grandchildren and those yet to be and want them to be saved and have an everlasting life. There is a Hell but also a Heaven. Let us join together with unity to be savers of souls.

Quotes of the Day:

We can pray like Daniel for our country and Christians.

Daniel 9:3-5

3

I turned to the Lord God, to seek help, in prayer and petition, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.

4

b I prayed to the LORD, my God, and confessed, “Ah, Lord, great and awesome God, you who keep your covenant and show mercy toward those who love you and keep your commandments and your precepts!

5

We have sinned, been wicked and done evil; we have rebelled and turned from your commandments and your laws.

Daniel’s times but if we hold fast to God’s laws read verse 13.

Daniel 12:10-13

10

Many shall be refined, purified, and tested, but the wicked shall prove wicked; the wicked shall have no understanding, but those with insight shall.

11

* From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the desolating abomination is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12

Blessed are they who have patience and persevere for the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

13

Go, take your rest, you shall rise for your reward at the end of days.”

25

Our job as Christians. Matthew 20:25-28 In the end times we will be self centered and worship of money and things. Sounds familiar. More Christians are persecuted today than in Ancient Rome.

But Jesus summoned them and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and the great ones make their authority over them felt.

26

But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant;

27

e whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave.

28

f Just so, the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom* for many.”
